Bang Bang Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces 🍗

1/2 cup cornstarch 🌾

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs 🍞

1/4 cup granulated sugar 🍮

1/4 cup soy sauce 🍜

1/4 cup rice vinegar 🍚

2 tablespoons vegetable oil 💧

2 cloves garlic, minced 💡

1 teaspoon grated ginger ❀️

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes ❗️ (optional)

1 cup Bang Bang Sauce (see below) 💦

Bang Bang Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise 💦

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce 🌶

1 tablespoon soy sauce 🍜

1 tablespoon rice vinegar 🍚

1 teaspoon honey 🍯

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 💡


Preparation Steps:

Prepare the breading station: In one bowl, mix cornstarch, panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and a pinch of salt. In another bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and vegetable oil. 🌾

Prepare the chicken: Toss chicken pieces in the soy sauce mixture, then coat in the cornstarch mixture, shaking off excess. 🍗

Bake the chicken: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through. 🍞

Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: Whisk all sauce ingredients together until smooth. 💦

Assemble and serve: Toss baked chicken in Bang Bang Sauce until coated, then garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds (optional). 🎉


Notes and Tips:

For crisper breading, chill coated chicken in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking.

Adjust red pepper flakes to desired spice level.

Bang Bang Sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 1 week.
